Newmarket’s intermediate footballers opened their season with a victory over St. Michael’s by 1-10 to 0-4 in Division 3 of the league at Dromtariffe on Sunday.
Newmarket claimed their first victory in this years Ducon Cup when they recorded a fine victory over Boherbue by 0-10 to 0-6 at the latters venue, on a fine crisp Sunday afternoon.
Newmarket’s minor footballers had their first league outing away to Croke Rovers at Castlemagner on Saturday evening, with a strong home side claiming the points by 4-10 to 1-5.
Newmarket claimed an equalizing point with the last kick of the game, from a Nicky Flanagan free, to share the spoils with Dromtariffe, 1-7 each at Dromtariffe on a crisp, dry Sunday afternoon.

Newmarket rounded off the playing season on the highest possible note, when they captured the Nevin Cup for the second time in four years and also the second time in the clubs history, with a dramatic, exciting victory over Knocknagree by 1-10 to 2-6 at the latters splendid` floodlit venue on Friday evening last.
Kevin O’Connor scored a magnificent free from long range and a difficult angle with the last kick of the game to claim a fine victory on a bitterly cold night.
Newmarket Junior footballers are contesting the Nevin Cup Final tonight, November 23rd 2007, at 8:00pm, under lights. The game is being played in Knocknagree, against the home team.
Newmarket were defeated by Ballydesmond in the inaugural Duhallow Cup competition by 0-12 to 0-9 in difficult winter conditions at Rockchapel on Sunday.
Newmarket Junior A Footballers produced a fine display in their final group game of the Nevin Cup against Boherbue to progress to the final of the competition. They overcame Boherbue on a score line of 1-11 to 1-3 in very tough conditions at Ballydesmond last Sunday.
Newmarket gained their second victory in their Nevin Cup group and go into their final game topping the group with four points from two games, after they defeated Kanturk by 2-12 to 1-7 under a floodlit Kiskeam on Tuesday evening, in a game played in perfect conditions.
