Impressive away win for Intermediates in League

At this weeks Duhallow Board meeting, the championship draws for this years competitions took place. The draws involving Newmarket fared as follows:
What is a busy few days for the club begins tonight with the intermediate footballers playing away to Mallow in the league at 6:30pm, quickly followed by the minor footballers away to Kanturk also in the league at 6:45pm.
Friday the junior footballers take on Castlemagner at home in the Ducon Cup at 6:45pm.
Sunday sees the minor footballers out in the league at home to Dromtarriffe at 12:00pm. At the same time the intermediate footballers take on Newcestown in Newcestown in the premier intermediate league.

Newmarket’s under 21 footballers qualified for their second successive Duhallow final after they defeated Knocknagree by 0-16 to 1-9, in a high quality contest played at Cullen on Saturday evening, that kept supporters enthralled throughout.
Newmarket’s junior hurlers began their league campaign with defeat away to Tullylease by 2-10 to 1-3 in ideal conditions on Sunday last.

A last gasp Glanmire goal deep into injury time, denied Newmarket their first victory in this years Premier Intermediate Football League and earned a draw for the home side, 2-9 to 1-12 in blustery, wintery conditions, at Glanmire on Monday last.
Newmarkets minor footballers hung on for a draw at windswept Bweeng on Monday evening, to draw in their first league outing of the campaign, 2-4 to 1-7 against Kilshannig.
Newmarket were defeated by Ballydesmond, 2-8 to 0-3 in their second Ducon Cup game played in terrible weather conditions, at Ballydesmond on Sunday.
The junior footballers are away to Ballydesmond on Sunday, the 18th of March, at 3:00pm.
The minor footballers begin their season on Monday, the 19th of March, in the league against Kilshannig in Kilshannig at 5:00pm.
Finally, the under 21 footballers will play the winners of this weekend’s quarter-final match between Knocknagree and Kiskeam in the championship semi-final on Saturday the 24th of March.
The Club are hosting a Spring/Summer Fashion Show in the Community Centre on Friday 23rd March 2007 at 8 p.m.
Newmarket travelled to Rockchapel on Saturday, for their first outing in this years Ducon Cup, with the home side emerging victorious by 3-7 to 1-10.
