Hurlers lose first outing in junior hurling league

Newmarket had their first outing in this years junior hurling league when they travelled to Tullylease on Sunday, where the home side emerged victorious by 3-13 to 2-9 in greasy, wet conditions.


Memorable under 21 final ends in a draw

A sensationally converted Kanturk sideline kick, which was the final piece of action in an enthralling contest, ensured Newmarket and Kanturk must meet again in the Duhallow under 21 football final. A memorable final ended 1-13 to 2-10 under the floodlit Knocknagree venue on Friday evening.

Impressive win for young intermediate team

Newmarket’s intermediate footballers recorded a fine victory when they defeated near neighbours Kiskeam by 1-13 to 1-10 in the first round of the Evening Echo Premier Intermediate Football Championship played before a large attendance on a fine Spring day in Kanturk last Sunday.


Newmarket and Kiskeam clash in championship for the first time since 1998
