Newmarket’s Ducon Cup campaign came to an end when they were defeated by Dromtariffe in the quarter final at Cullen on Wednesday evening by 0-14 to 0-6.
Newmarket overwhelmed a hugely disappointing Youghal side in the intermediate football league played at Mourne Abbey on Tuesday evening, recording a mammouth 3-19 to 1-1 victory.
Newmarket maintained their terrific start to the junior B hurling league when they recorded their second successive victory at home to Meelin on Thursday evening by 3-13 to 4-8 in a keenly contested game.
A special congratulations to former Newmarket player Tony Buckley, who won a Heineken Cup Medal with Munster on Saturday in Cardiff. Newmarket travelled to Kanturk on Sunday and lost out in a poor Ducon Cup contest by 0-8 to 0-5.

Newmarket competed their first junior B hurling game in over a decade when they travelled to Kilbrin on Sunday and emerged with a fine win from an entertaining contest, 2-12 to 0-14 in perfect conditions on a warm day.
