Coming Fixtures

Wednesday, February 28th, 2007

Newmarket’s under 21 and intermediate footballers are in action this coming weekend.

The under 21s play Kiskeam in the championship at Rockchapel, 3pm Sat 3rd March. The intermediates go up against Nemo Rangers in the league at home, 3:30pm Sun 4th March.

All support welcome.

Mark Of Respect

As a mark of respect to the late Diarmuid O’Brien, all club activities for the past week were cancelled. These included all club teams training sessions, the under 21 football championship tie against Kiskeam and the premier intermediate football league game against Newcestown.


Sad Bereavement

The local community was devastated and shocked when news broke on Friday evening of the untimely tragic death of the very popular Diarmuid O’Brien following a traffic accident in Washington D.C..


Gallery Updated

The gallery has been updated with a photo of the opening of the field in 1955.

Also added is the programme and a picture of the opening matches, a juvenile final between Newmarket & Millstreet and a senior hurling challenge between Cork, including Christy Ring, & Tipperary.

Newmarket GAA Club held their annual social before a sizeable attendance at the River Island Hotel, Castleisland, on Saturday February 3rd 2007.
