Late comeback falls short

Newmarket’s intermediate footballers completed their preparations for next Sunday’s championship encounter with Kiskeam, by suffering their first league defeat, away to Clyda Rovers at Mourne Abbey last Sunday by 0-10 to 0-8, after a fine late comeback.

Newmarket continue promising league form

Newmarket recorded their third victory of the league campaign when they defeated Aghabullogue under the floodlights at Cloughduv on Friday evening last by 0-12 to 0-5.

Newmarket claim deserved draw with late point

A late Newmarket rally enabled them to clinch a point and maintain their unbeaten run in the league, when they drew 0-11 to 1-8 at home to Grenagh on Monday afternoon.

2008 Duhallow Championship Draws

Monday, March 10th, 2008

The draws for the 2008 Duhallow Championships took place on Monday evening last.

In the junior hurling championship Newmarket will meet Meelin for the first time since they met in Newmarket in 2005.

The junior footballers will face Dromtariffe and Knocknagree in their two championship games and will be required to win one of these games in order to progress.

In the under 21 hurling championship, Newmarket have been drawn to meet Millstreet.

Intermediates continue on winning ways

Newmarket’s intermediate footballers maintained their winning start to Division 3 of the league when they recorded a fine victory away to Nemo Rangers on Sunday by 1-11 to 0-9.

U21 Footballers win close encounter

Newmarket’s under 21 footballers overcame a strong challenge from Knocknagree to claim a one point win, 0-9 to 1-5 in a very blustery, floodlit Knocknagree on Friday night.

Cork Vocational Schools

Congratulations to Conor Cronin on winning an All Ireland medal with the Cork Vocational Schools football team that defeated Monaghan in the final last Saturday.

Intermediate Footballers win opening league game

Sunday, March 2nd, 2008

Newmarket’s intermediate footballers opened their season with a victory over St. Michael’s by 1-10 to 0-4 in Division 3 of the league at Dromtariffe on Sunday.
