A disjointed display saw Newmarket’s senior footballers go down to a league defeat against Naomh Aban by 2-9 to 2-5 at Newmarket on a sunny Sunday afternoon before a sizeable attendance.
A wonderful display of football in the final quarter enabled Newmarket to progress to the semi final of the Evening Echo Premier Intermediate Football Championship following a fine quarter final replay victory over Naomh Aban by 2-11 to 1-7 in perfect conditions at sun drenched Dromtariffe on Saturday afternoon.
Newmarket and Naomh Aban must meet again following an exciting and intriguing drawn contest at Dromtariffe on Sunday afternoon, a game which finished level at 2-7 to 0-13 during which the sides were deadlocked on six occasions, five times in a memorable second half.
Newmarket were defeated by an impressive Naomh Aban side in a minor football league game played at Newmarket on Monday evening, by 3-13 to 2-7.
