The senior footballers commence the McCarthy Insurance division league 3 campaign with a home win over Bishopstown.

Newmarket played against a stiff breeze in the first half, leading on a score line of 8 points to 2 at the break, the scorers in the half were, Conor O’Keeffe with five points, four coming from placed balls, Barry O’Connor, David Cottrell and Tadgh Ryan with a point each. 

In the second half scores were hard to come by as Bishopstown grew into the game, Newmarket held on for the win 11 points to 7. In the second half Conor O’Keeffe, Barry O’Connor and David Cottrell added to the points tally.
