Sharp Shooter Hannon Key As Newmarket Reach Duhallow JAHC Semi Final

A 14 point haul from midfielder Donal Hannon helped Newmarket to a 0-21 to 1-11 victory over Dromtarriffe. The game was played July 20th in Lismire.

The teams traded early scores before Dromtarriffe hit Newmarket on the counter and rattled the Newmarket net with nine minutes played. A young Dromtarriffe team showed some great skill, however Newmarket were beginning to get up to match pace. With 10 minutes remaining in the first half, the Dromtarriffe keeper pulled off a super save from Barry O’Connor and moments later another from a placed shot by Cian Crowley. The teams continued to trade scores and at half time, Dromtarriffe lead on a score-line of 1-06 to 0-08.

Newmarket got the first score of the second half to level matters, however Dromtarriffe instantly regained the lead. Hannon hit three points without reply before Tadhg Ryan added another. Newmarket now lead on a score line of 0-13 to 1-07, with 45 minutes played. Newmarket dominated the final quarter with scores coming from Hannon, Crowley and Paddy Browne. Newmarket won a score line of 0-21, Dromtarriffe 1-11
