Junior B hurlers go out to bridge 26 year gap

The Newmarket Junior B hurlers head to Meelin this Halloween Saturday hoping to bridge a 26 year gap since the last adult hurling title for the club. That came via the Junior A league title of 1983.

Newmarket begin their 2009 Evening Echo Premier Intermediate Championship campaign, this Monday against St. Vincent’s in Mallow at 7:00pm. The match is a repeat of last year’s tight semi-final, which St. Vincent’s won by the narrowest of margins.
