Congratulations to the Newmarket under 14 hurlers who completed the championship double last Sunday, following the defeat of Dromtariffe in the A final.

Two weeks ago the boys won against Millstreet in the B final after some late goals. This Sunday it took extra time to separate the teams, Newmarket running out victorious on a scoreline of 3-18 to 5-11. Congratulations to all the boys, their mentors and families. A gallant Newmarket minor hurling team were defeated by Dromtariffe in the Duhallow Minor C Hurling Championship final played in trying wet conditions at Dromtariffe on Friday evening, a late burst from the home side confirming a 0-14 to 1-7 victory.

Friday night, 26th June, saw the resumption of the U16 football league with Newmarket taking on Dromtariffe at Newmarket on a fine summers evening.

Defending champions Newmarket advanced to the semi final stages of the Duhallow under 21 football championship after claiming their second successive victory in the round robin series to duly finish top of their group, having travelled to Dromtariffe and defeated the home side by 0-12 to 1-3 on a fine Saturday afternoon.

Newmarket maintained their unbeaten run in this year’s Junior B hurling league when they recorded their third victory from as many outings, on bettering Dromtariffe by 1-9 to 0-6 on a miserable Monday evening at Dromtariffe. Newmarket had to put behind them a thoroughly disappointing first half display, in which they failed to register a score, to turn around and make amends with a much better second half performance.

Three in a row for Newmarket

NEWMARKET became the first team to win the Duhallow junior football championship three years in succession when they defeated Dromtariffe by 1-8 to 1-3 in a hard-fought final played before a very large attendance at Banteer on Sunday. They led at the interval by 0-6 to 0-1.
