Newmarket and Nemo Rangers meet in the second round of the Evening Echo Premier Intermediate Football Championship at Coachford, on Saturday evening at 7:30pm.

This represents the last chance for both sides to progress in this year’s championship, with the losers of this tie faced with the prospect of a relegation battle. Newmarket were defeated by St. Vincent’s by 0-8 to 0-5 in their first round outing in Mallow on April 13th while Nemo Rangers succumbed to Newcestown.

The sides have already met in the league when Newmarket travelled to Nemo Rangers on March 8th where they suffered a heavy defeat by 1-15 to 0-4.

The most recent championship meeting between the sides was on May 26th, 2004 at Macroom where again the city side emerged clear winners by 1-14 to 1-3.
