Newmarket’s junior hurlers suffered a crushing home defeat to Kilbrin by 6-20 to 1-7 on Friday evening.

Kilbrin set off in a ruthless fashion and by the break had amassed 2-14 to Newmarkets two points which came from Michael Kenneally and John McSweeney.

Kilbrin kept adding to their total with John Lane in fine form during the half for Newmarket by scoring five points. The highlight of the half for Newmarket arrived after ten minutes when T.J. Bodie found the net from close range.
